Seniors

2020

i'm jessica

hey Gorgeous!

I’m a small-town photographer and educator fueled by one part glamour, two parts grit, and a whole lotta grace. You’ll find me chillin’ on an island in Japan for the next three years, but I’m originally from below the Mason-Dixon. Most days you can find me dancing around at home, rockin’ the messy bun, oversized t-shirt and a pair of sweatpants from high school.

As a photographer, I’ve been awarded by Shoot & Share, published in both House of Flynn Magazine and Pretty Presets Magazine, and featured on Looks Like Film, as well as countless other instagram feeds and blogs. But truth is, as cool as those moments were, nothin' compares to seein' the look on your face when you view your images for the very first time. I make it easy for ya, keep it fun, and focus on makin' ya fab. (Oh, I’ll do just about anything to make you laugh. I'm 95% likely to word-vomit something ridiculously random during your shoot. Get ready!)

let's connect

BOOKING YOUR SESSION

1

I work with each of my seniors individually to create a portrait session you'll be stoked to show off days, as well as YEARS, after we're finished! Instead of following trends, I've worked hard to create a style of my own that is chic, edgy, and timeless. No detail is forgotten friend! My goal is to be there every step of the way as I capture your story. From the initial consultation to handing over the final, printed pieces from your session, (which are KILLER,) I'll guide you through an experience that will be memorable for years to come... trust me. ;)

what to

expect

Senior year is a time of growth, a time of change. and a time to look forward to everything that's to come. (I promise, the best REALLY is yet to come!) As a photographer, I've spent years findin' the perfect locations. poses, and lighting techniques that'll show ya off beautifully. I've put hours and hours into researching the best looks, hair & makeup techniques. and wardrobe ideas that make my portrait sessions truly unique. Snappin' a photo is easy, but directing you and leading you confidently through your shoot is somethin' entirely different. This is something I guarantee with each and every client who graces the front of my camera. (Yes, you!)

before YOUR SESSION

2

Begin researching outfit, hair, and makeup inspiration! Go on girl, rock out that Pinterest board with any and all things senior photos. (This is the fun part!) Pin any looks that inspire you, then just invite me to it! This will help me feel out your vibe! By doing so, we can be on the same page, and I can give you everything you dreamed of (and probably a lot more!)

making a payment

The entire collection fee is due upon time of booking to secure your session date. If for any reason we need to reschedule, (due to rough weather, sickness, etc,) no worries! You'll have the next availability, and we'll rock it out girl! :)

DAY OF YOUR SESSION

3

This is the day you've been waiting for. Wake up with no expectations: (aside from receiving incredible images you'll cherish for years to come!) Come to your session with no makeup, and "two day old hair." Freshly washed hair usually won't hold curl or your chosen style as easily as hair that has a bit of texture! (However, if your hair gets super oily quickly, feel free to come with freshly washed hair!) Be sure to iron out all clothes and bring every outfit you intend to wear. along with shoes and jewelry. Also, don't forget to wear nude undergarments, (that's super important!)

AFTER YOUR SESSION

4

Within four to six weeks of your session. I'll deliver your digital proofs through an online gallery. This gallery will consist of anywhere from 50-400 images for you to pick your favorites from (depending on your chosen session.) Once you've chosen them, I'll do the finishing touches and deliver the final product back through the online gallery! Then, it's on to prepping those grad invites and gearing up for the big day! :)

So here's the thing - I don't just shoot what it looks like, I shoot what it feels like. Lemme let ya in on a little behind the scenes here...

After all the preparation is done. and the session is finished, I go home to post-process the images; and that's when it really gets creative...

I spend roughly 30-45 minutes on every SINGLE image of yours. I view each individual image as a piece of art; a beautiful paragraph that comes together in it's entirety to form a beautiful novel... one all about you girl. I truly take this process seriously, and it's my heart's mission to make you feel, and look - more fab than ever! ;)

DELIVERY OF IMAGES

I deliver all of my images digitally through a fabulous online gallery which you can access from any device (phone, laptop, tablet, etc.) Your hand-selected gallery usually consists of anywhere from 200-400 images. You can then sit down with your friends and family and pick your favorites' Most people say this is the hardest part! But it's a good thing, promise! ;)

After delivery of the proofs, if you wish to have any extensive edits done to the "favorites" you've selected, such as removing bra straps, makeup and hair touch ups, items removed from background, etc., - these are $35/image! Almost everything is fixable in Photoshop, so if there's something buggin' ya, just lemme know girl and we'll see what we can do! ;)

WHere'S YOUR DREAM SHOOT?

let's talk

getting ready for your session

1

Most importantly, be prepared to have the best day of your life. All you have to do is show up and have fun! Your hair and makeup will be fab, and your images even more-so. Make sure to get some rest the night before, because it'll be an adventure! Also, try to allow at least a week between the time you get your eyebrows waxed and tanning. If you're getting your nails done, be sure they'll coordinate with your outfits! I wouldn't recommend making any major changes to your hair right before your session, as you may not be happy with the outcome! We wanna make sure you feel perfect on the day of, so you can rock it out. ;)

it's all in the

details

The details will be what make your session stand out from all the others, girl. First and foremost. this is YOUR session, and it should be all about what represents YOU. Because I take this approach with every single session I do, no two of my sessions are alike. From locations, to looks, to outfits - your session will be perfectly tailored to what best fits you. Since so much thought goes into this process,  start planning ahead and preparing early so you won't be stressed out at the last minute! Your outfits should both represent you and flow with the location(s) we choose.

what to wear

2

Wear clothing you feel would speak for you if you didn't have a voice. Whatever your style is - rock it. If you're a free spirited/boho chic girl, try Urban Outfitters or Free People. If classic southern belle is your style, try Lucky Brand, or Modcloth! Or, if you want to rent a designer outfit, there's always Rent The Runway!

I love outfits that no one would have thought would go together - pieces that make people talk. Pull inspo from various fashion blogs/websites. and browse through look-books. Get the gist of what direction you want to go, and I'll help you put it together!

you

be

professional hair + makeup

3

As not only a photographer, but a makeup artist as well, I can't stress the importance of having your hair and makeup professionally done for your session enough. Thankfully, I can take care of all of it for ya! I use the best products on the market to ensure you're naturally flawless. ;) Keep in mind, because we are doing makeup for photography, it'll be slightly more than you'd wear on a regular basis - but I promise it's worth it! I have yet to lead a client astray. Most are shocked (in a good way) when they see themselves. I'll bring out the most beautiful qualities in ya! ;)

tips for success

Arrive to your session with a clean, bare face. If getting eyebrows waxed or tanning, please allow one week in between the time you do so and your session date. Also, don't forget to get your nails done! It's so easy to forget the small things!

$150

senior portrait

investment

Your senior portrait experience shouldn't be viewed as just another item to check-off the "senior to-do list." This is your time, and you deserve to go out with a bang. Let's take the bull by the horns, and by that, I mean let's dress ya up like you would and document it. ;)

I offer several different collections. all of which have the same goal: capturing you fabulously in this bittersweet time in your life. Each collection is carefully thought out, with no detail left untouched. If you're lookin' to just book a session with me and never hear from me again, I'm not your girl. We'll become life-long friends throughout this process, and I'll stay in touch with you as you travel towards bigger things following your high school graduation.

I'm getting emotional already...
